Description

A popular climber reaching up to 3m (1m of annual growth). Ornamental fragrant beige flowers, borne in whorls at the ends of shoots during May and June, followed by orange berries (July-October). Slightly pubescent leaves and stems. It doesn't have any special soil requirements. In May it's often subject to attack by aphides, especially when grown in dry and sunny positions. An excellent all-purpose climber.

Polish cultivar from 2006 with a compact growth habit and a long flowering period (June - September). Flowers are red-purple on the outside and beige inside, and have a strong agreeable scent. Ornamental red fruits (August - October). Small leaves, purple-green when young, turn green with age. Stems twine round the supports. Succeeds in moderately fertile soil as long as it’s not too dry or acid. In May it’s often subject to attack by aphides, especially in excessively dry or hot positions. Suitable for growing over, fences, trellises, various supports, or among other plants. Particularly useful in small gardens, in places where we often spend time, close to windows, doors or benches.

An American, early blooming prolific female cultivar bearing tasty fruits (Mini Kiwi): sweet, with a honey flavour and aroma, and a smooth, edible skin. Medium-sized roundish berries, with a reddish-brown bloom when in full sun, ripen during September and October. After maturing they soften quickly. It starts bearing fruit in its third or fourth year after planting. Sustains frosts up to –30^oC. Warm sheltered site and moderately moist, fertile soil are needed. Actinidia climb by twining, it’s suitable for growing over various supports, arbours, pergolas and trellises or may be trained on wires stretched across the poles.
