Description
A Czech cultivar with ornamental laeves and exceptionally large for this species fruits. It grows up to 3-4 metres high. Grows moderately fast (1-2 m per year) wrapping stems around supports. The leaves are initially green, after 2-3 years become green-white-pink. The variegation is most pronounced on well-lit leaves. Actinidia blooms in May. Flowers are small, white with a delicate lenon scent. The fruits ripen in August. They are large, 4-4,5 cm long, oval, elongated, greenish-yellow. The fruits are rich in vitamin C. The plant yields fruits in its 3rd -4th year. A female cultivar requires a male pollinator, e.g. cultivar 'Adam'. Actinidia requires sunny, wind-protected sites. Its preference is for moist, well drained soil, slightly acidic or neutral. Sustains frosts up to -34°C.
