Description

A rampant species reaching up to 4-6m (1-2m of annual growth) on a suitable support. Flowers white, changing to yellow, very fragrant, produced continuously on the young growths from June to October. Exceptionally floriferous. Semi-evergreen leaves on vigorous shoots. The stems twine around the supports. Performs well in moderate soils and in partial shade. It may freeze during severe winters. An excellent climber for covering large spaces, tall fences and concealing unsightly buildings and tree trunks. Suitable to use as ground cover over vast areas.

A popular climber with ornamental flowers: tubular, fragrant, purple-red outside and creamy within, borne in clusters from June to September. Attractive, bright red fruits (Jyly - October). Reaches a height of 4-6m with 1-2m of annual growth. It doesn't have any special soil requirements. In May it's often subject to attack by aphides, especially when grown in dry and sunny positions. An excellent all-purpose climber, well suited for scrambling over arbors, pergolas and other supports.

A popular, long and profusely flowering climber. Tubular, fragrant, rosy-red flowers flushed with yellow at the centre, borne in whorls at the ends of shoots from June to September. Leaves obovate, green, the upper pair perfoliate, forming a disc subtending the inflorescence. Reaches a height of 3m with 1m of annual growth. It doesn't have any special soil requirements. In May it's often subject to attack by aphides, especially when grown in dry and sunny positions. Well suited for scrambling over arbors, pergolas and other supports.

Campsis radicans Ursynów - trumpet creeper

A polish variety selected in the district of Warsaw of the same name. A robust climber with attractive trumpet-shaped, brilliant orange flowers in July-September. Starts blooming in its second to third year after planting. It normally climbs by aerial roots, but needs a little support until established. Flowers best in full sun, in sheltered and warm locations; may freeze during severe winters. Excellent when trained over an arbour or a pergola and is particularly useful for covering walls and strong supports.

Humulus lupulus Aureus - yellow hop

A climbing perennial growing up to 6 m tall with soft yellow leaves throughout the summer. A female form, the most attractive of all hop varieties. Best grown in full sun, not drought tolerant. Very effective in autumn (IX-X) with drooping yellow cones scattered around the plant. Owing to its vigorous growth and densely twining stems it forms thick clothing of a fence, a tree trunk, an arbour or a low building in just a few weeks. An excellent screening plant. In autumn masses of yellowish-green cones appear and leaves may turn to orange-green. When growing in a sunny and dry situation it's frequently attacked by spiders, whereas in shade is susceptible to downy mildew.
