A vigorous, perennial with a decorative habit and intensely red leaf petioles. It produces large, showy leaves and grows to approximately 1-1.2 m in height and 0.9 m in width. This variety is valued for its exceptionally sweet, delicate flavor and attractive stem color, which retains its intense color even after cooking. It grows best in sunny or slightly shaded locations, in fertile, humus-rich, and constantly moist soil.
It is an easy-to-grow, frost-resistant, and long-lived plant. The fleshy, red leaf petioles are perfect for making cakes, compotes, juices, desserts, and homemade jams.
Harvest usually occurs from spring to early summer.
