A very valuable Swedish cultivar, raised as a hybrid of Clematis faurieri and Clematis sibirica. Charming double flowers of the shape of an open bell, 6-8 cm across, slightly nodding. White sepals with pale yellow stamens. Main and the most profuse flowering in April-May on old wood, but it continues blooming throughout the summer on new shoots. From June to autumn the plant is additionally adorned with light silky seedheads. No pruning required. Tolerates moderate soils and partial shade but good drainage is necessary. A healthy and quite undemanding climber. 
Ideal for fences, over rocks and old trunks, or for growing through shrubs and conifers. Makes good ground cover.

Ideal for growing over fences, walls, rocks and old trunks. It can clamber through small trees and deciduous or coniferous shrubs and is particularly suitable for planting at the base of vigorous vines that tend to develop flowers in the upper parts of a plant (e.g. Wisteria, Celastrus or Clematis montana). The center is filled with 15 – 17 staminodes of similar length as the sepals or shorter, lanceolate, slightly wavy and pointy. The outer staminodes are of similar colour as sepals and they get lighter towards the middle. Stamens have yellow anthers on cream coloured filaments, and pistils are also cream coloured.
