'Black Knight' is a vigorous, large, deciduous shrub grow to 3 metres high. Blooms on annual shoots. Features spike-like, long terminal clusters of dark purple flowers which appear from June to October. Flowers are fragrant and very attracive to butterflies. Removing faded flower heads will encourage plants to continue blooming. They usually grow more vigorously and produce superior flower if cut to the ground. Grows best in well-drained soil in full sun. Does poorly in wet conditions. Excellent for cutting.
