A delightfully, elegant Japanese variety of deep violet, nodding flowers, 1.5-2 cm in diameter, with lighter margins and sharp, imaginative recurving outside vertices. It blooms for a long time on this year's woods, from May to October. The leaves are single or trifoliate, 12 cm long and 14 cm wide. Young shoots are purple and the old ones are brown. It grows up to 0,8m height. It doesn't climb over supports but can lean to them. It is frost hardy, tolerates average, well-drained soil. Likes well-lit and airy sites. It looks lovely when intermingled through small deciduous or coniferous shrubs. Suitable for use as a groundcover. Beautifully presented grow in containers on balconies and terraces.
