Description

A valuable, fully hardy, strong-growing climber reaching even 20m (0,5-1m of annual growth) in suitable trees. It attaches itself by means of aerial roots, though may require initial support. Flowers in corymbs, in June to July, greenish-white, with several large, prominent white florets along the margin. Green, ovate leaves on long petioles turn to yellow in autumn. Stems cooper-brown with peeling bark. Thrives best in moist and acid soils.
Particularly useful in half-shade or even complete shade. Excellent on walls, trees, pergolas as well as a groundcover.

A new cultivar with green leaves with yellow margins. White flowers in corymbs, in June-July. It climbs by attaching itself to the support by aerial root and can grow up to 6-10 m tall (0,5 m annually). Frost hardy. Thrives best in moist and acid soils in well lit positions that don’t receive direct sunlight. Particularly useful for growing on walls, trees, pergolas and as a groundcover. Well suited for colour combinations.

A very attractive variety with green-white leaves, with pink shadows during prolonged cold weather. Nicely on a wall. Looks best in a place sheltered from the wind and afternoon sun. It breaks the monotony of uniform green. Leaves are smaller than those of the species. Moderately strong increases. Reaches 3-6 meters. Annually, grows 0.5-1m. It can even grow on smooth walls. Particularly useful for growing on the walls, but is also suitable for growing over arbors, pergolas and other supports.

A vigorous climber growing up to 10 m tall (1-2m of annual growth). Strikingly large, heart-shaped leaves up to 30 cm in length are its main attraction. Unusual, small (2-4 cm), pipe-like flowers blooming in May-June. Best planted in half-shade. It requires fertile, fresh soil; in full sun and on dry soil it's frequently attacked by spiders.

An ornamental, bearing tasty fruit (Mini Kiwi) climber that will adorn any garden. A rampant growing (up to 4m tall), dioecious, self-pollinating cultivar with a bit less decorative foliage than that of the other varieties. Blooms in June. In order to bear fruit a plant requires 150 days without frost. Berries ripen in October. If gathered unripe, they soften and mature when put in a bag together with fruit producing ethylene, e.g. apples, and kept at room temperature. It starts yielding fruit in the second, third year after planting. Sustains frosts up to around –25^oC.
Pruning is best done in late autumn or winter (before the vegetation period), or in summer after the stems have partially grown thick and woody; otherwise the vine will bleed sap.
